When you use Credit Cards in some countries for example in Malaysia the credit card company will block your credit right away. The amount of fraud in Malaysia regarding credit card is so big the the credit card company take no risks.
If you want to travel outside your own country please notify the credit card company beforehand.
Most credit card fraud happen when you shop and the shop or restaurant take a copy of your credit card information in the same time.
It will only take a few seconds and the machine is the same a normal credit scanner. If possible never leave the credit card with the waiter to take away or pay buy cash in restaurants. In shops it is easier to keep an eye on the credit card.
Always keeps the slips from the credit card buy and if you traveling make sure to check your balance daily for unusual activates on the credit card.
Do not delay any blocking of the credit card do it promptly as soon as you discover something strange is going on. For example some people destroy your credit card after you copy it to make sure you can not use it for a day or two.
