This Pump ‘n Dump scam has been going on for years from so called boilers rooms. But in the old days they called you by phone and tried to make you buy a certain stock. Now most of the pressures are done by the internet and from email spam.
The scammers will try to make you believe that he as some third party information that will make this stock raise to the skies. They will say this trough message boards or in emails and when enough people actually see this information they will buy the stock and it will rise for a moment.
Once the scammers think they have enough up trend on the stock they will dump their shares before everyone has the time to sell and they will make a nice profit on your behalf.
