Did you know that you can get rebate from the tax giving things away? Things you donate to charity can give you tax reductions benefits.
You have to be sure that the charity qualifies and you can find more information about that in the Publication 526, Charitable Contributions on the IRS website.
If the donation is a service, gift or money it need to be recorded somehow. You can not just claimed to give a new iPod and not have any documentation on it.
So go find a Charity and give away some of that old stuff you have around the house and get a tax rebate.
